The modern arts and crafts style house was expanded to cater for the growing family’s needs. We opened the existing lower rooms to the rear and integrated them into the extension to draw light deep into the plan.  As the sun works its way around the brickwork and articulated glazing, the open plan space maximises the changing light during the day.

A strong emphasis was placed on the joinery which integrates spaces for those everyday essentials and appliances, around key structural elements. This aids in creating an open plan living area perfect for a busy family which doubles as a spacious, light filled area for entertaining guests all year round.
